(c) William Russell

In the days of lament
I walked the seas of sand
There the warm grains felt grand
In passing all time
Was warm and slow
Like unto the sheep's wool
The time was never near
In having to rush here or there
The grains of sand
Never burnt
For in those days I never ran
Just kept a slow pace
Gentle, a soft embrace
Of life that we had to face
